We are living in an extraordinary time of great change in the world of private capital, which can be defined as the aggregated total of familial, financial, intellectual, social and cultural capital. Substantial change is now taking place at a rapid rate from both within and surrounding legacy families in each of these constituent elements of private capital.

London has long been a pillar of the global family business, wealth management and family office community, but now faces an array of domestic and international challenges, including pressures in the fiscal and regulatory landscape, evolving geopolitical dynamics, global economic shifts, and the societal impacts of technological change.

A number of interrelated critical questions are arising whose answers are now both important and urgent:

This first Lord Mayor’s Global Family Office Summit will bring together a number of leading families, family offices, expert advisors and key players in the financial ecosystem that defines the City of London. The Summit will provide practical insights for the owners of significant private capital to understand their options, define their strategies and manage the best way forward in these challenging times.

The Summit will provide an opportunity for attendees to broaden the scope of their own investment and family initiatives, as well as offer guidance to policy-makers on proposed reforms to improve the City’s operating environment and maximise the benefits of this important part of the economy to the City, greater London and the nation as a whole.
